Art Therapists use the creative arts to promote the positive mental health of people of all ages. Art Therapy has been proven to reduce stress and increase confidence among individuals with illnesses including: depression, developmental problems, addictions, social & emotional problems, violence and neurological problems.
Art is a universal language that can be very healing for even those individuals experiencing the greatest depths of hopelessness.
The Unique Imaging Art Therapy program enables individuals to express themselves in a way that expands their vision of their place in the world. Ultimately boosting their self- confidence and detaching from negative self-images and discovering their true core-self once again.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SERVICES:
I have over 20 years of experience providing art therapy and play therapy to children, adolescents, adults, older adults and families. I offer art therapy counseling, to individuals, couples, families, groups, corporate/professional retreats, professional/seminar presentations, CEU training and supervision to other art therapists. I also provide consultation to all professionals about client created art and specific populations. I hold a Ph.D. in Art Therapy, Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and a certificate in Arts Therapy / Psychology. I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and Board Certified (BC).
MY SPECIALTIES INCLUDE:
My clientele has included children, adults and geriatrics in group, family and individual settings.
Medical Art Therapy for adults (hospitalization, amputation, rehabilitation), stroke survivor groups, caregiver groups, newly retired lifestyle changes, bereavement and pre-bereavement, cancer survivor groups, terminal illness, 1st time placement to skilled nursing facilities (SNF) or assisted living, loss of independence, dementia, disssociation, and corporate team building.
I am available for speaking engagements at seminars and conferences, consultations with other mental health professionals and art therapy supervision to other art therapists.
My skills and specialties are very diverse since my career as an Art Therapist has taken me to several different populations. However, my mission has remained the same:
